ADVANCED PROCESS CONTROL IN CRYOGENIC AIR SEPARATION INDUSTRY ​

The extracted gasses by cryogenic air separation (oxygen, nitrogen and argon) are used in many different industries, this makes that air separation has become a process integral to many manufacturing processes. The use of these gasses by many processes results also in many relatively smaller air separation plants. Therefore, it is not always cost-effective to implement MPC techniques, even if the separation of air into its components is an energy intensive process. 

Air separation facilities can have many different configurations, because several gasses can be extracted in several forms. Therefore, we analyze the process and provide the right economic advanced controls solution for the facility.
